Thousands of years ago the Greeks told the tale of the god Apollo, who dared to tame the muses and become their master. He often had trouble keeping them under his control, as the muses tend to be wild and temperamental.
And so it is with each one of us who seek to keep the muses as companions rather than our own masters.
But it’s possible.
Guidelines for the writing challenge:
- Prompts will be issued every Monday, beginning Monday, January 6th
- It’s up to you what you write (or draw, if you’d prefer to tame a different muse). The interpretation of the prompt is entirely up to the discretion of the author, as is the genre and subject of the piece.
- If you’d like for me to keep track of your score, you should submit your piece of writing as a link on my submissions page by midnight EST on the following Friday.
- Your score is how many weeks in a row you participate. It’s entirely up to you whether you participate in score keeping. This is meant to be a challenge to yourself, not for anyone else’s benefit.
